Boudreau, Phillip A. - Four charges of breach, one of unlawful confinement. In the case of an assault charge four hours has been set aside for a trial on April 2, 2003. The crown attorney noted that the other matters would be cleared at that time.
Leask, Rodney R. - Charges of breach, possession of controlled substance and robbery. Adjourned to March 6 and March 27. (One breach of probation charge has been in the system for 743 days.)
Poulin, Kelly B. - Charged with two counts of fraud. Adjourned to March 27.
Thom, Frederick G. Pleaded guilty to charges of assault and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. There was a stay on a charge of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Adjourned to March 27 for a presentence report.
Galligos, Karen - Pleaded guilty to assault. Crown Attorney Tulley-Barr noted that Ms. Galligos has taken steps to deal with her alcoholism and that there have been no violent incidents since 1983 and 1985. He recommended a fine. Attorney Dave Garling said his client is "more sinned against than sinning", has been working out at a gym and has worked hard to preserve the Sliammon language. Judge Tweedale gave a conditional discharge, imposed six months probation and 44 hours community service, which the judge recommended be performed using Ms. Galligos' language skills. $50 Victims Fine Surcharge was levied.
